A PLACE TO EAT AND RELAX

This room is yours if you are our B&B guests. It's where we serve breakfast (and dinner too, if you choose to eat with us). It's also where you can come and make yourself a cup of tea or coffee when you like, or enjoy some home baking in the afternoon. It's a wonderful place to plan your day, using the maps and guides we've gathered. You might like to relax with a good book in front of the fire. Or you could watch TV, read the newspaper, play board games or just chat.

This light, airy room – painted 'French Gray' offers high ceilings and the original pine flooring, which has been laboriously sanded back and given a beautiful, polished finish.

It's also very cosy with the large Nordpeis wood burning stove, warming the room on those cooler Scottish days or providing a delightful ambience for your in-house dining.  We respectfully ask that guests don't order or bring back carry-outs.

Breakfast (inc.)

  • Your choice of continental or full-cooked Scottish breakfast (vegetarian options available)

  • Eggs from our free-range, organically fed hens

  • Porridge in the winter (or summer if you like)

  • Local fresh berries in the summer

  • Organic milk & yogurt – milk alternatives available, on request

  • Freshly ground coffee, tea & herbal teas

Breakfast is served at a time of your choosing between 07.30 and 10.00. If you need to get away early, we can make that happen as well, by prior arrangement.

As a trained Nutritional Therapist, Liz likes to focus on quality, buying organic, locally sourced items, where possible. It doesn't get much more local when it comes to the eggs for your breakfast. They come from her resident hens and are a treat not to be missed.

Charles is a keen cyclist and enjoys and makes a good, hearty breakfast, so you will never leave Craigellie hungry!

Dinner

  • We can offer dinner at Craigellie (subject to our own availability). You have a choice of a simple 2-course supper, or a set 2- or 3-course dinner from our full menu. If you opt to enjoy one of Liz's delicious, home-cooked meals during your stay, you won't be disappointed. It's important that this is arranged prior to your arrival, and fully agreed in advance.

  • If you would like more details please ask and we will advise on availability, dishes and prices.

  • There are also a number of good restaurants within easy reach of Craigellie.

We specialise in good home-cooked food with seasonal ingredients. Our portion sizes are sensible and where we can we offer seconds, so we hope to get it just right for you.
